First off Friday night Crazy Hoods did the Def Jam thang while doing it up at the Red Star party held by Def Jam & Heineken @ club Rain in South Beach. Big up to my dog Eric Cohen from Heineken, DJ Irie WEDR 99 Jamz, Luc Duc (Iconz), and everyone else who came out to the party and did the damn thing! Now flip it to Saturday night and we're back in party mode this time doing it Crazy Hood Productions style! C.H.P. in conjunction with B.C. Ent., Def Jam, Def Jam South, & Def Soul put it down at club Static on South Beach. The night was ending anyway and what counts is that no one was seriously injured! Big up to DJ Denace the Menace, Phil "the mayor" Cordona, club Static & the whole Crazy Hood street team.
It's been a tragic past couple of weeks, not only has our dog J-pure of the group SLP been in a tragic car accident but we also lost a hip hop pioneer Jam Master J of Run DMC. First off everyone from Crazy Hood Productions would like to send out there support & prayers to J-Pure, his family & SLP in this time of need! Also if you haven't heard already Jam Master J of the legendary group Run DMC was shot to death in a Queens, New York studio. In lighter news Crazy Hoods linked up with long time friends N.O.R.E. and the rest of Thugged Out Millitainment while covering the "Paid In Full" tour in Boca Raton, Florida. Along with N.O.R.E. was Cam'ron, The Diplomats, & M.O.P. In more local news Weird Thoughts of Da All & Garciaattended a local hip hop town meeting put together by Algorithm. The meeting covered many topics which plague Miami's hip hop scene and open a line of communication between many groups & crews in Miami. It may not have solved the problems but was a good start for these local acts to network & make contact with each other. We look forward to another one with more attendance and more ideas to be put on the table. Big shout out to Mandy, Slick Ricks' wife on her campaign to help her husband in the situation he is in. If you don't already knowSlick Rick was detained by U.S. officials and is being held without bail awaiting a process that would deport him back to England. His wife reached out to DJ EFN to help her in her campaign to bring awareness of an online petition on DefJam.Com to put pressure on officials to release Rick and keep him in the United States. Locally Mandy has already stated her plea on 99Jamz, Power96 and WVUM. Eddie Gigs, EFN and the rest of the Crazy Hoods have also spread the word and are doing what they can on the part of Crazy Hood Productions. So please log on to DefJam.Com , sign the petition and get more detailed information on this situation. Let's show the world that the hip hop community can stand together, especially for all the legends that help build hip hop.
