For many thirty somethings (like myself) that at one point picked up a skateboard this movie will transport you back in time to the "golden era" of skateboarding. For all you younger folks out there that see the current trend in skateboarding, this movie will shed light on the background to modern skateboarding and its style. The Bones Brigade was one of the top skate teams, if not the top skate team and ushered in the skateboard phenomenon.

Fresh, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Grandmaster Caz, Ice Cube, Ice-T, Immortal Technique, Joe Budden, Kanye West, Kool Keith, KRS-One and more! I couldn't imagine anyone more qualified to put together a proper documentary about Hip Hop than Ice-T! I look forward to watching this!

AMERICAN JUGGALO (DOCUMENTARY BY SEAN DUNNE)

We first started to hear about the Juggalo phenomon last year when we started having our dealings with Tech N9ne in regards to ¡Mayday!. We were told about this fan base that Tech N9ne had acquired through his association with the Insane Clown Posse. That ICP was not only still around but that they were immensely successful and had become so by their legion of loyal fans dubbed the "Juggalo's". Every year ICP does a festival called "The Gathering of the Juggalo's". This video directed by Sean Dunne documents the gathering and speaks with the various people from all walks of life that call themselves "Juggalo's".

Something tells me I might of posted this some time ago. Oh well doesn't hurt to see it again! I was chopping it up with my homie at Rak On Tur (the people who brought us Cocaine Cowboys and the movie in the post before this one!) and he brought up this film they are still working on. The documentary is two years in the making. The film is about the backyard brawls which got fame several years back by the popularity of Kimbo Slice. What I love most about this subject is the fact that these fights take place literally down the street from where I live! LOL

SQUARE GROUPER: GODFATHERS OF GANJA (MOVIE TRAILER)

Our homies at Rak on Tur' who brought us the every so popular documentary film; Cocaine Cowboys, bring to us another documentary masterpiece about our Florida history, entitled "Square Grouper: Godfathers of Ganja". This movie revolves more or less around the same era of the Cocaine Cowboys but concentrates around the small town of Everglades City, Florida. What started as a small fishing town became a central hub for Marijuana smuggling. If you loved Cocaine Cowboys chances are this new film will not dissapint. Shout to Billy Corben, Evan Rosenfeld and the whole Rak On Tur family! Here's what Magnolia Pictures had to say at press time:

A colorful portrait of Miami's pot smuggling scene of the 1970s, populated with redneck pirates, a ganja-smoking church, and the longest serving marijuana prisoner in American history.

Check out this cool mini documentary about The Roots. Watching this bring back to the first time I heard a record from The Roots. How dope and refreshing they were to the scene at the time. MOVIE PICK OF THE WEEK: TAPPED (DOCUMENTARY)

I knew bottled water wasn't the best thing for us as well as the environment but I didn't think it was this bad. This documentary takes you on a fact finding mission about bottled water. The film does an excellent job taking you from point A in the acquisition of water to point Z the potential impact those bottles are having on our health and our environment. The documentary was well put together and aside from the grim subject matter proves to be a fairly entertaining film. I don't need a documentary or an activist to convince me that the corporate world cares more about its bottom line then it does about the impact their operations have on everyday people and future generations. Once again we the people have surcome to marketing brain washing and have been convinced to pay for something that we already had for free!
