The Educated Hustlers just released their sixth project (third official mixtape) entitled D.O.P.E. (Doing Our Part as Emcees) on 6/28/12. This current body of work displays our growth and versatility as artists with the intention to redefine music. A few featured artists on the mixtape include Le$ (Boss Hogg Outlawz affiliate), Laws (Justice League artist), Khalia Simone (Interscope) and Joe Cool. RICK ROSS - RICH FOREVER (VIDEO/MIXTAPE)

I know most of you probably got this or what not but being that I am still bumping Ross's last project and I think it a classic I had to post this even if it was a lil' late. Above is a video showing you some insight into the making of this mixtape. The video was put together by no other then our homie Dre Films. You can say what you want about Ross but there is no denying his ability to make great music as well as his ability of staying consistent and in the public eye. I have seen this man's progression from his humble days of coming to Crazy Hoods studios to record for DJ EFN's mixtapes to him surviving what many thought would be a death blow by 50 Cents campaign against him. DJ EFN - DIGGIN' IN THE TAPES [DELUXE EDITION] (MIXTAPE)

At the top of the year DJ EFN celebrated 15 years of mixtapes by releasing "Diggin' In The Tapes" via djbooth. The compilation album was a collection of classic DJ EFN mixtape freestyles and unreleased original material from DJ EFN's mixtape catalog going back into the mid 90's. Crazy Hood Productions decided to re-release DITT with an additional 10 bonus tracks exclusively on CHP's bandcamp site. The bonus tracks include freestyles and tracks by Redman, Termanology, N.O.R.E., Wrekonize (of ¡Mayday!) and more. Enjoy!

MUSIC VIDEO: BLOOD TYPE - DA MONEY

Its harder these days to listen to every cd or mp3 sent my way. It almost seems the amount of aspiring artist has quadrupled in the last few years. With that said its rare that the music I do get a chance to check out from new artist is even half good! This was not the case with Blood Type. I was highly impressed by their music on "2 Weeks Notice". More so cuz I expect more from artist coming out of Miami and even more from specifically South Miami (where I am from). These guys are definitely on the right path. Its always refreshing to hear artist that step away from the preconceived Miami stereotype while still keeping honest to where they are from. I look forward to seeing Blood Type's development in the next couple of years. Also check out their video "I have Dreams" featuring Big K.R.I.T. as well as their debut project "2 Weeks Notice" which features the likes of Emilio Rojas, Smoke DZA, Kendrick Lamar, Big Rube & Ghostwridah. One of the stand out joints is "Thanksgiving" feat. Kendrick Lamar and Ghostwridah. Listen and download the project on Djbooth now!

NAS SHARES HIS PASSION FOR CASSETTE TAPES WITH TDK (VIDEO)

Today the world wide web gave me a gift, it gave me the gift to reminisce like I so love to do! In this video by TDK, Nas talks about the tape culture and how cassettes were important to him and an entire Hip Hop generation. Everything Nas says in this video is exactly what I did and felt about tapes. To this day I hold on to my collection of at least a thousand cassettes. I also started my musical journey on the backs of cassette tapes. While tweeting, reading and facebooking about this video and Cassettes in general, I remembered I was once sponsored by TDK. I was lucky to get in good with a rep at TDK and he use to send me packs of blank cassettes for me to copy my mixtapes to. There is no way to explain to someone now how important of a role cassettes played and what we truly lost. It seems that with every new technology the true essence of music culture is lost.
