NAS SHARES HIS PASSION FOR CASSETTE TAPES WITH TDK (VIDEO)

 >> Classics Posted 1/19/2011 8:47:57 AM by crazyhood

Today the world wide web gave me a gift, it gave me the gift to reminisce like I so love to do! In this video by TDK, Nas talks about the tape culture and how cassettes were important to him and an entire Hip Hop generation. Everything Nas says in this video is exactly what I did and felt about tapes. To this day I hold on to my collection of at least a thousand cassettes. I also started my musical journey on the backs of cassette tapes. While tweeting, reading and facebooking about this video and Cassettes in general, I remembered I was once sponsored by TDK. I was lucky to get in good with a rep at TDK and he use to send me packs of blank cassettes for me to copy my mixtapes to. There is no way to explain to someone now how important of a role cassettes played and what we truly lost. It seems that with every new technology the true essence of music culture is lost.

TDK: Nas carved some time out of his busy schedule to catch up with us and drop knowledge about his experiences and memories of making and collecting mixtapes. We caught up with Nas at Silvercup Studios, appropriately located in his hometown of Queens, NY. Nas goes deep reminiscing about cassettes, mixtapes and musical influences (Tribe Called Quest, MC Shan, Kurtis Blow & Queen, just to name a few) while reflecting on his early life in the Queensbridge housing projects.

You guys, this is clearly not Michael Kors’ first time at the rodeo, even if it was his first time on safari. Kors used a recent trip to a luxurious South African resort in the middle of a nature reserve to power the Michael Kors Spring 2012 show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York, and if you’re having a hard time seeing the theme in these photos, then you might want to get your eyes checked.

The back band layout is usually recommended dependant upon creating a number of open-air taking walks. Take care to stay clear of rainy surface areas,

preferably, as being the Birkenstock Milano Sandal could get fitted.
